Affordable Home Inspections provides two types of mold related services:

1. MOLD SAMPLING - Air and Surface -Starting at $350.00 for an interior and exterior test- $125.00 Per test for any additional interior testing.

Air mold sampling consists of withdrawing a metered amount of air performed in the contaminated areas to determine the amount of mold spores and to help in the assessment of mold growth and the types of mold active in the living areas. The samples are then shipped overnight to Environmental Microbiology Laboratories, Inc (EMLab). An easy to read and follow laboratory analysis report will be taken from the samples. Delivery of the test results can be mailed, faxed, or emailed with 48 to 72 hours. A minimum of 2 samples must be taken as an outdoor sample is used by the laboratory for comparison purposes. The laboratory Report will provide a summary of the following:

• How to easily understand the analytical results of the samples.
• General information on how to interpret the Mold Score.
• The types and quantities of mold spores found.
• Definitions and descriptions of each mold type found.
• Recommendations and approved guidelines for resolving mold problems.

Surface Sampling consists of swab, tape, or bulk testing. The mold samples are collected from the contaminated areas using lift tape, specialized sterilized swabs, and or cutting out portions of the materials. From there, the samples are sealed in an airtight container and shipped to the laboratory for analysis. The laboratory results are ready for review within 24 to 72 hours and can be mailed, faxed, or emailed to all concerned parties.
